Hello internet friends! I’m enjoying a wintery vacation in Wisconsin and have been knitting loads. First of all, I made this gigantic owl for my great-niece! It’s crazy!!

This is the Big Snowy Owl from Purl Soho. This is the third one I’ve made, and I highly recommend it!
Next knitted a cowl with the leftover yarn for my sister-in-law, then I looked for a super bulky cabled hat for myself. I couldn’t find a pattern that I liked except for a Vicky Howell pattern that was only available with some kind of subscription, so I decided to try to come up with one myself. I did so, and decided to publish the pattern for free on Ravelry. Here it is!

It’s very easy and super fast. For a larger head, I’d suggest adding about 5 stitches to the stockinette section.
I still had yarn left, so I came up with a pattern for a slouchy, bulky hat in stockinette. Maybe I’ll publish that pattern next.
Happy knitting!
