Thanks to a business meeting at preschool, I had some knitting time and finished my current charity hat!
I managed to use up every last bit of two yarns- one of which (blue malabrigo) I’ve had for over 5 years. It’s nice to use up stash like this, and leave nothing to stuff back into the closet.
And the stockinette on large-ish needles didn’t seem to hurt my hand/wrist at all. ☺️
I like the colorway. It’s a nice change to see green in a beanie as culture doesn’t permit me to make them in that color.
You don’t make green hats?
No because the ppl I usually had knitted them for were Asian. The only.time I ever made a green beanie was for a swap.
I need to start striping hats just to get rid of all those odds and ends. some aren’t long enough to do stranded patterns, but I can just stripe til I run out!
Yes! That’s exactly what I do and exactly why I like using scraps for hats, and why I made so many stripey hats in particular! I love the satisfaction of using up every last bit of yarn, and stripes fit the bill!
