Halloween sneak peek 2

Today I had some frustration working with faux leather.

This is the back side- hemming didn’t work out, nor did just sewing the layers together with no finishing. The top layer tended to stretch, and the layers didn’t want to move forward in my sewing machine. I gave up and used my hot glue gun, but I’m not satisfied. Any ideas???

Felt is almost always good to me, however, and I was happy with my one last addition to the Wee Boy’s costume.

it’s upside down, though!

At least something worked out, right?

  1. With the faux leather-you should never pin any type of leather use clips instead-but have you tried hand sewing it with an upholstery needle and thick thread? I have found that works when I use leather. It is hard work but it’s worth it.

    • Thank you so much for the advice! I just jumped right in without doing any research on how to deal with pleather. I took your advice and sewed it up with a needle and embroidery floss, and it looks so much better, and was so much less frustrating. I even went back and redid a bunch of things that I had originally oversimplified, and I’m much happier with the result now. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
