Halloween, part 1

Between the gym and preschool pick up, and during the post-preschool nap, I worked on the Wee Girl’s Alice in Wonderland costume.  I feel weird cutting instead of tracing (it feels so wasteful!), so I cut the biggest size and traced the size I needed.

Snip!

Snip!

There are so many pieces…

Getting organized.

Getting organized.

But somehow I managed to get all of the dress and apron pieces cut out before the Wee Boy woke up.  Phew!

Helpful hint!  If you live in the vicinity of a Daiso shop, the tracing paper they sell for much less than sewing/craft stores works much better.  The lines show up clearly without having to press hard with the rotary tool, or having to do multiple passes.

Cut!

Cut!

I’m ready to sew!  I’ve set tomorrow morning aside for working on this project, so I should get something done!  The only thing I need is to check the skirt length on the Wee Girl.  It looks so long, and the leftover blue material would look so nice for my quilt backing….

Ready to pin and sew!
