Shirr you can!!/Put a bird on it! (Part three)

Today I was able to give my baggy-backed dress some SOS, thanks to a friend’s advice to try shirring it. I followed the tutorial on Made by Rae’s website, except that I shirred after seaming.

But first I practiced on a scrap!

The dress before steaming the shirring– it was very wide!

And I even managed to get a few photos of myself wearing it!

dress success

Pardon my goofy hair, I wore pigtails today. Boy, am I glad this problem had such an easy solution! I’m entirely satisfied with how this dress turned out. Hopefully it’ll be warm enough to wear it soon!
